Protected area of Bova Valley: The Bova Valley of 4 km includes several habitats such as canyons, rock faces, caves and forests. The wetlands contrast with the dry chalky rocks. The Leaden Hole is a massive cave which winds through the chalky rock of the karst complex of the Turati Alps. The entrance is huge and spectacular, comparable in size to the Cathedral of Milan and measuring about 45 metres high by 38 metres wide. The cave extends for more than 300 metres and has not yet been fully explored. Numerous remains of palaeontological interest pertaining to Ursus Spelaeus have been found, as well as flints and tools left by nomadic hunters during the Palaeolithic Age. The walls standing in the entrance hall are of archaeological interest and seem to date back to 500 AD.The caves host extraordinary and very fragile ecosystems, and they keep the fossils of the Ursus spelaeus. One of the most famous destinations of cyclists is Madonna del Ghisallo Sanctury to Magreglio, was made part of the "Giro di Lombardia" bicycle race and has often featured in the "Giro d'Italia" as well.
